This is also a good hat for using up small amounts of leftover yarns from which you’ve made other things. It calls for 7 vivid colors; the main color requires less than 75 yards while the other six require about 12- 15 yards of each. Our kits include plenty of extra of each color so that you can distribute the colors as you prefer.

These yarns are spun in 4 plies from incredibly fine, luxuriously soft 100% superwash merino. In worsted weight, gauge is 21 sts & 25 rows per 4″ / 10 cm using US #8 needles. You’ll need a 16″ / 40cm pair of US US #7 / 4.5mm circular needles, a pair of 16″ / 40cm #8 / 5.0mm circular needles, and a set of #8 / 5.0 dpns, or simply use long #7 & #8 circs with the magic loop technique. Yarns are beautifully presented as small, twisted hanks accompanied by a professionally printed cover page with a full color image of a completed hat, an insert with the names and descriptions of the included yarns, and packed in a heavy, recloseable poly bag.

This knits up fast, and it has no long patterns to remember. Owing to the elasticity of wool, and the vibrancy and ultimate softness of Meadowcroft yarns, this will be a favorite hat of whomever is lucky enough to be its recipient.
